Pick up day was very efficient and everything we would ever need was included in a perfectly packed container. The experience was such a fun thing to be apart of and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the eggs hatch and seeing the quail grow until the return date. We were provided with ample information should we have chosen to keep any of the quail, including the opportunity to purchase supplies to house them. The return process was also efficient and we could tell how much everyone enjoys being involved with Nanny McCluckins. We will absolutely be signing up to do this again. We just completed our duck hatching experience with nanny mccluckins and what an amazing experience it was. We started with 9 eggs. We were so blessed to have 6 ducklings hatch. Everything we needed was included as well as any support or … More questions was just a text away. It was so much fun getting to know each duckling and naming them. They became a part of the family and it was hard to let them go in the end because we loved them so much but, we would do it all over again because it was so much fun.

We did the duck hatching experience this year. It was so rewarding to watch the embryos develop inside the eggs via candling. 4 of our 6 eggs hatched and we had the joy of watching our ducklings grow from newly hatched babies to strong … More "teenagers" each with a unique personality. They would waddle behind us through the house in a little group with their webbed feet plopping on the ground and peeping adorably. Nanny McCluckins provided all the equipment we needed along with food and bedding and a water dispenser and detailed instructions for each stage along the way. The only thing I would change would be to request a lot more bedding. We ended up needing to buy a bunch more. It was hard to say goodbye to our sweet little peepers when they headed back to their home farm.

We just gave back our chicks yesterday after completing our first Nanny McCluckins experience with chicken eggs. My kids, aged 10 and 7, and I had fun setting up the incubator and checking on the eggs according to calendar. We weren’t able … More to see much in 3/6 eggs when it was time to candle them because they were brown/green. We were so surprised to come home the day before scheduled hatch day to find that the runt who my daughter named Little, had hatched. We also got to witness the hatching of another chick - very cool to see! My kids enjoyed setting up the bin and transferring the chicks over, and of course playing with them and watching them grow over the last week. They named each of the chicks.
I would say this experience was a valuable educational opportunity for my kids to learn about life and death. Unfortunately, one of the fully-formed chicks did not hatch, and Little the runt passed away on Day 6 after the other chicks had sat on her overnight. My daughter and I tried to nurse her back to health but it was too late. My children were very upset but we discussed how natural animal instincts lead to the survival of the fittest.
The Nanny McCluckins team was available to answer my many questions via text and email. Overall, my children and I enjoyed the whole process and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique at-home science experience 🙂
One suggestion I do have for Nanny McCluckins is to organize the instruction booklet with more sub-headings. There was a lot of information to review and sometimes cumbersome to find pertinent information on multiple pages. -

We bought it as a Christmas present for our niece and nephew as we like to promote experiences over materialistic items and they were absolutely engrossed in the project. … More They checked on their chicks and the calendar every morning and night, it was the highlight of their day. It’s super important for kids to see the life cycle of something, even if some chicks “don’t make it”. We even needed to call the number regarding a hatching chick and the woman answered and was very professional and helpful. This is something everyone should do and was even so much fun for us adults! One of the best experiences my girls have had! They loved every step of the hatching process. First thing they do when they wake up is check on the chicks, last thing before bed is say goodnight to them. We had 6 out of 8 hatch (2 days … More early), all strong and healthy. They love to be cuddled and played with, one is way more needy than the others, he/she is my favorite. I would 100% recommend this to anyone with children or not! We have completely fallen in love with all of them and are dreading the day we have to give them back.

Pick up and drop off is well-organized. Plenty of instructions are provided and they were available by phone for questions. The equipment was all in excellent condition. My students absolutely loved the experience and we'll do it again … More next year.
My only suggestion for improvement is that there wasn't enough wood shavings to keep the chicks clean and dry for a week so we had to purchase more. There was also not enough food provided and we had to supplement. -

Big agriculture hides behinds family farms and companies like this to make you think that the egg and chicken industry are nice. Family farms and small operations or chickens being kept for pets are far from the norm.

We followed the instructions to a T and had 4 sweet chickens hatch and grow before our eyes. Our children fell so in love with the fluffy bums, and it was a delight to see their personalities develop. The chicks went back to a no-kill, free range family farm, that we now follow on instagram. We welcomed quails into our grade 3 classroom. We had 6 eggs, however during the hatching process we had some difficulties. This being our first quail hatching experience we reached out to Marylin for support. When they say unlimited support, … More they really mean it. Marylin was available to walk us through a care process over the phone, responded quickly over text and when we need additional support she was able to pop into the classroom to check in. Although there were challenges, and some of our quails need extra support and care, it provided a lot of learning opportunities to discuss differences and animal life cycle. I cannot express enough how much this meant to the classroom, students and myself.

This was such an amazing experience. My three kids and I were so excited leading up to hatch day and we were fortunate enough to all be present for 3 out of our 4 hatches! We were sitting at the kitchen table when all of a sudden we heard little chirping coming from the incubator! That was an exciting moment. After the chick hatched the kids literally counted down the hours until they could take it out and hold it! Those chicks were well loved that first week of their lives! I was a little concerned I made 'mistakes' during the incubation process, but those little guys were resilient and we got four out of six eggs to hatch (two unfertilized)
They hatched a bit early so we had them about 9 days, which was just the right amount of time. My children 8, 6, 3 (and who am I kidding, us big kids) enjoyed the chicks SO much. Its insanity how cute they are.

We picked up the package of equipment and five eggs, and set up the incubator without much problem. After that, there wasn't a lot of excitement. We tried to candle the eggs, but could never see anything inside of them. The first … More chick hatched on Day 18. After that, the kids were looking for pips and cracks, and cheering on the chicks as they popped out of their eggs. Four out of the five eggs hatched, with all of the chicks apparently healthy (and very cute). After about a week, we returned the package and the chicks, and met a few others who had done this as well. They all seemed to have had a positive impression. I would recommend it. It was fun for the kids and a great learning experience. Maybe next year, we will try it again with duck eggs.

We had 4 of our 5 baby chicks hatch and we all fell in love with chicks for the week we had them. The kids easily handled them, giving them a snuggle at every opportunity. I was worried my kids were going to be pretty upset saying goodbye but they all understood they had to go to their home at the farm and when we dropped them off there were bins of their other brothers and sisters so the kids were happy they were going to be with their families.
